Iceland Tour 2026
Staci and I recently went to Iceland for our honeymoon and we had the trip of our lives (so far). We slept in a camper van as we toured around the ring road (Route 1) of the country and saw everything from waterfalls to puffins and whales. We did not see was the sunset for 10 days as we experienced 24 hours of daylight for the duration of our trip.
Rain, Rain, What a Day…
These photos were all captured on a weekend backpacking trip near Steamboat Springs, CO and it was a trip for the books. One thing we don’t get a lot of in Colorado is rain, but this trip had LOADS of it.
Early mornings, waterfalls and mountains… oh my!
On Saturday, July 5th, 2025, at 2:30 am, I departed my apartment to meet up with Barb on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park once again. This time, our goal was to find parking at Glacier Gorge Trailhead before traveling into the mountains beyond Mills Lake. Incredibly, we just managed to land a parking spot upon our arrival at 4am as the parking lot was swarming with people heading out on similarly epic journeys for the holiday weekend. On this day Barb and I covered 14 miles with around 4000 feet of gain. Not a shabby way to spend a Saturday!

Things to do (and eat) in Moab
Moab, a small town nestled in Utah’s red rock district, has occupied a special place in my heart since my first trip there with my parents and sister way back in 2017. Since then I’ve explored it six or seven times, once for a week straight as I worked remotely from the library parking lot (the WiFi was splendid and social distancing was… necessary). Backpacking, Photography and Misadventures on Segment 8 of the Colorado Trail
When I backpacked this segment of the Colorado Trail in the summer of 2024, I knew it was going to be a tough weekend trip. The single-segment-distance was the longest I had done to date, the altitude was high above sea level at a ski resort, thunderstorms were possible in the afternoons, and I was going with a group of friends who would need help figuring out the logistics of a car shuffle.
