Lime is a photograph I captured in the Fall of 2024 in Golden Gate Canyon State Park near Golden, Colorado. This image features lime-colored leaves on Aspen trees just before they began their seasonal transformation. At the time, the leaves hadn’t quite started their full change to the classic vibrant yellows of autumn. Two weeks later, those same Aspens were glowing bright yellow, but I found something uniquely appealing in their subdued summer tones during this trip. The soft lime hues contrasted beautifully against the clear blue of the Colorado sky, creating a serene and fresh palette that is often missed when chasing the peak fall colors.
